The ARC Training Centre for Joint Biomechanics advances fundamental biomechanics knowledge and orthopaedic research through collaborative efforts between academia, industry, and clinical partners.

  • Development of a 99.2% accurate deep learning AI algorithm for fracture detection.
  • Clinical validation of the MyMobility ™ app with Medtech company Zimmer Biomet
  • Enabled improved pre-operative patient planning and patient outcomes through musculoskeletal modelling and planning software improvements, culminating in the launch of Queensland start-up company Akunah.
  • Enabled growth of the Australian medtech sector with the training and development of biomechanical engineers.
