National Biologics Facility (NBF)
Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology - The University of Queensland
The NBF's mission is to enable translation of biotherapeutic research to clinical development, supporting Australian researchers to bridge the gap between discovery and clinical manufacture.
The NBF specialises in expression of recombinant proteins in multi-host expression systems including bacteria, yeast, insect, and mammalian cell lines and bioprocess development for clinical manufacture.
The facility offers protein production services from research to pilot scale (0.1-50L) and has dedicated protein purification suites capable of isolating milligrams to grams of protein.
Additionally, the facility offers protein engineering and antibody discovery services.
The facility operates under a Quality Management System certified to ISO9001.
The facility is funded through the NCRIS scheme via Therapeutic Innovation Australia.
