3D total body imaging for melanoma screening

The Dermatology Research Centre is a network of researchers interested in skin and skin cancer. The DRC's works to reduce the suffering from skin cancer and skin diseases through innovation. It identifies and addresses key clinical questions with the goal of having major impact on the health of individuals and the broader community.

The collective of researchers is multidisciplinary and a formally endorsed university-wide network, bringing together basic scientists, clinicians, engineers to assemble all available innovations, such as the latest imaging technology, artificial intelligence, digital health, genomics and molecular biology to design new clinical trials to fulfil the centre's goals.

  • Prof Peter Soyer - Winner of the Shaping Australia award 2025 and Eureka Prize for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Scientific Research 2024 for Melanoma imaging diagnosis
  • Prof Kiarash Khosrotehrani - Winner Queensland Health Excellence in Research Translation award 2024 for prevention of skin cancer in organ transplant recipients and also led commercialisation of cell therapy using endothelial progenitors in brain ischemia
