Mackay Institute of Research and Innovation supports and strengthens research, clinical trials and innovation across Mackay Hospital and Health Service. MIRI works with clinicians, researchers, consumers, universities, industry partners and health service teams to translate evidence into better care for the Mackay region. The institute supports investigator-led, collaborative and commercially sponsored research, while building workforce capability, governance systems and partnerships that enable safe, ethical and high-quality research. Through its clinical trials and research support functions, MIRI helps expand access to emerging treatments, improve patient outcomes and ensure regional communities can benefit from innovation closer to home.
