Institute for Communities and Regional Development (ICRD)
University of Southern Queensland
The Institute for Communities and Regional Development (ICRD) conducts interdisciplinary, collaborative research that addresses the challenges and opportunities facing regional, rural, and remote communities.
ICRD brings deep expertise in place-based and regional approaches, informed by applied research and responsive to the social, cultural, economic, and environmental contexts that shape regional Australia. Through this work, ICRD generates evidence-based solutions to complex and interconnected issues.
ICRD works with communities, governments, non-government organisations, and businesses to support regional communities to navigate change, harness opportunities, develop and apply new skills, and strengthen identities, wellbeing, and connection.
